DuoDERM® CGF™ Dressing is a hydrocolloid, moisture-retentive wound dressing that incorporates a unique ConvaTec hydrocolloid formulation that distinguishes it from other hydrocolloid dressings.
- Composition
- Hydrocolloids are contained within the dressing mass. The adhesive layer contains polymers which enhance the dressing’s ability to contain wound exudate by forming a cohesive gel
- Mode of Action
- The self adherent dressing absorbs wound fluid and provides a moist environment which supports the body’s healing process and aids in the removal of unnecessary material from the wound (autolytic debridement) without damaging new tissue.
- It promotes granulation and facilitates autolytic debridement.
- Autolytic debridement removes necrotic tissue as quickly as enzymatic debridement.
- Evidence-based action plans for hydrating dry wounds include creation of a moist wound environment to prevent wound drying and to allow autolytic debridement to occur.
- DuoDerm CGF Control Gel Formula Dressing acts as a barrier to the wound against bacterial, viral and other external contamination.
- Ease of Use
- DuoDERM® Dressings can be worn for up to seven days.
- The dressings are highly conformable – and can be easily and gently molded into place
- Indication
- Used for partial and full-thickness wounds with exudate.
